Morgan Packard
Anticipate
Country: US
Every now and then beat music meets with lay critic being accused of imitativeness. According to some “specialists”, stolen samples and monotonous loops are the “legacy” of electronic music left for future generations.
In Morgan Packard’s compositions every loop undergoes minor transformations. With another part come other sounds. The initial sequence becomes unrecognizable at the end of the composition. In New Yorker’s compositions contemporary technology and techno- or breakbeat-originating rhythmic patents meet friendly to experiments and fertile music ground. Jazz improvisation, contemporary musicians’ innovation… and a gift in computer sciences have all contributed to creation of compositions labeled by Microcosm and Anticipate.
