Svarte Greiner
Audiovideo
Country: NO
Red room, blue velvet, dark thoughts. Gloomy and rather claustrophobic landscape, where every item, gesture and word provoke anxiety. Dimmed light, smell of mustiness and rustle and swooshes that send shivers down your spine.
Far from sonic optimism, ambient compositions of Deaf Center in comparison with solo compositions of the half of the duo are like a visit to your friends’ a little underlighted yet cosy and warm house. If David Lynch hadn’t found a music companion in Angelo Badalamenti, Steve Greiner would be a top candidate for that position. Erik K. Skodvin presents his “audible films of terror” to the audience who is often unaware of their convention, and he publishes them in Type Records. However, any horror film studio with a sense of respect would happily place them in their catalogue too.
At Plateaux Festival Svarte Greiner will first perform together with his native project Deaf Center. And the next day with the help of guitar, bows, cracks and other effects he will be leading a tour around gloomy sides of his psyche so that you feel thrills, and anxiety accompanies the audience long after the performance on their night way home.
