Glitterbug + Ronni Shendar
Country: IL/DE + IL

Minimalism can often be an excuse for shortcomings. What Glitterbug presents us with needs no excuses, and “Supershelter” – his last year’s debut - refused to be pigeonholed by the critics. Extensive, and yet not oversaturated spatial compositions of the German evoke legacy of Warp Records with equal frequency as tradition of classical music.
Illegal acid parties, experimental techno scene and export music stuff from Detroit or Chicago have been shaping Till Rohmann’s sensitivity to sound. For many years he stayed in Israel where he animated the independent scene, which helped him to broaden his horizon. The results were the C.Sides label and festival. When the one side of the vinyl is filled with a beautiful, moving instrumental recital, and on the other side manifests a pulsating-with-energy dance composition, we would then get a third one – this nonexistent side C.
Film soundtracks, experimental radio sessions, video works, installations and lectures prove a wide range of Rohmann’s interests. His live-acts performed along with Ronni Shendar’s visualisations are usually easier to see in the States or Israel rather then in Europe. Therefore, the duet’s performance at Plateaux Festival makes it even a greater attraction.
